This course provides Peace of Mind in how to prepare for breastfeeding, common challenges of a newborn, and the steps you can take to have a successful postpartum experience.
This is one of three group Prenatal Preparation and Childbirth classes available. The others are Childbirth Education (Lamaze), and Relaxation and Comfort Measures. These three classes can be taken individually or as one combined six-hour All in One Platinum Education Class.
This class is organized in three sections. In this two-hour class, you will learn:
Breastfeeding Section:
- How the body makes milk
- How to latch the baby on
- How to tell baby is getting enough milk
- How to avoid sore nipples
- How to choose a breast pump for your needs, pumping, storing and returning to work. NOTE: If you already have a pump you are welcome to bring and we will make sure you know how to properly use it.
Newborn Section:
- Common characteristics at birth
- Realistic expectations with your newborn
- Calming techniques for your newborn
Postpartum Section:
- What to expect with your body & healing
- Tips for transitioning into a new family
- Understanding the postpartum period and how to get support
Cost: Cost is $75 per couple: Open to anyone regardless of the location of delivery or care provider. Partners of those who will help care for you and your baby are highly encouraged to attend.

What to bring: This is an interactive class – please feel free to bring a stuffed animal or doll (no need to go buy one if you don’t already have one) to practice with positioning and holds.
What to wear: Dress comfortably!
Class Policy: Information provided in this setting is for educational purposes only and not meant to substitute medical care. Childbirth Concierge reserves the right to reschedule a class due to inclement weather or low attendance; if you are unable to attend the rescheduled class a full refund will be given.
Cancellation Policy:Full refunds are available up to three (3) days prior to the start date if initiated by the registrant less a 3% fee. If within two days prior or day of class, there is NO refund, but the amount can be applied to another class.
