Frequently Asked Questions

Do CCI’s certifications require recertification?
Our programs come with a lifetime certification. No recertification required.
Is the credential of Certified Childbirth Educator (CCE) regulated at a State or Federal Level?
No it’s not.The training and certification are issued by Commonsense Childbirth Institute.
Do I have to move to Florida to enroll in the Childbirth Educator Course?
No, the uniqueness of this program is the flexibility it offers. We have designed these courses to be student friendly, allowing the student to come into town for the didactic (in-classroom) portion of the course, and then return home to work on their internship. When available you will be able to take this online in the comfort of your home.
If I live too far away, can I sponsor a training in my area?
Commonsense Childbirth Institute can bring the training program to your area. To sponsor a course, you must help secure a training location and promote the program in your area. If 10 students enroll, the “sponsoring” student’s course tuition is complimentary. This is a great way to earn certification at a reduced rate!
Does CCI help me gain my experience?
Yes, if you live in the Central Florida area you will have the opportunity to attend deliveries, and gain teaching experience. We will also help guide you on how to find additional learning opportunities in your area. CCI cannot take responsibility to provide all your experience.
What if I have already attended another training?
Regardless of where or whom you have trained with, you will be required to attend our training for a Fellowship fee of $235. The fellowship student will still be required to meet all CCI Certification requirements, but may count past experience to meet the requirements. Commonsense Childbirth Institute will evaluate other Childbirth Educator Programs on a case by case basis before the student can be considered a fellowship student.
