Our  Postpartum & Newborn Care Class serves as a foundation guide for newborn care, feeding, and postpartum wellness. Baby 101 is a comprehensive class designed to give new parents and caregivers the peace of mind they need to confidently navigate the early days of parenthood.

Our Postpartum & Newborn Care Class covers the basics of what you need to know about caring for your little one, ensuring you feel well-prepared as a new parent:

Postpartum Care

The postpartum period is both a physical and emotional transformation. In this part of the course, we focus on:

• Physical Recovery: Learn how to navigate the recovery process after birth, manage sleep deprivation, and practice self-care.
• Emotional Well-Being: Discover the importance of emotional health, identify signs of perinatal mood disorders, and know how to seek support when needed.

Newborn Care

Caring for a newborn brings both joy and challenges. In this segment, you’ll learn the essentials, including:

• Newborn Tests and Safe Sleep: Discover what to expect during hospital tests and how to establish safe sleep practices.
• Feeding Guidelines and Calming Techniques: Learn about feeding schedules and calming methods for fussy newborns.

Newborn Feeding

This segment covers both breastfeeding and formula feeding, providing you with:

• Breastfeeding Benefits and Techniques: Gain insights into the physiological benefits, techniques, and nursing positions for comfort.
• Feeding Challenges and Solutions: Learn how to recognize when your baby is getting enough milk, avoid common challenges, and find support when needed.
• Pumping and Milk Storage: Understand how to pump and store breast milk for times when direct breastfeeding isn’t possible, such as returning to work.

Class Details

• Cost: $35 per couple, open to all regardless of delivery location or care provider. Partners or caregivers are highly encouraged to attend.
• What to Bring: Feel free to bring a stuffed animal or doll to practice positioning and holds.
• What to Wear: Dress comfortably for hands-on learning.

• Class Policy: This class provides educational information only and is not a substitute for medical advice. We may reschedule due to weather or low attendance, with a full refund offered if you cannot attend the rescheduled class.
• Cancellation Policy: Full refunds (minus a 3% fee) are available up to three days before the start date. If canceled within two days or on the day of class, refunds are not available, but the fee can be applied to a future class.
