Newborn Care:  Caring for a newborn can be both joyful and daunting. In this segment, we’ll walk you through the crucial aspects of newborn care. From newborn tests in the hospital to safe sleep practices, we’ll cover all the essentials to help you know what to expect. You’ll learn about feeding guidelines and calming techniques for fussy newborns. Our experts will discuss important developmental milestones and provide guidance on when to seek medical attention for your little one.

Postpartum Care: The postpartum period is a transformative time for new parents, both physically and emotionally. Our course includes an essential section on postpartum care, focusing on your well-being as parents. We’ll address the physical recovery after birth and offer tips on navigating sleep deprivation and self-care. Understanding the importance of emotional well-being, we’ll discuss perinatal mood disorders and how to get support when needed. We’ll also provide resources for additional support and guidance during this precious but often challenging phase.

Newborn Feeding: In this section, we will delve into the world of breastfeeding as well as formula feeding.  You will gain a deep understanding of the numerous benefits for both baby and mother physiology of breastfeeding, learn various techniques and positions for successful and comfortable nursing. We’ll address how to know when a baby is getting enough milk and how to avoid common problems to ensure a smooth journey, and where to reach out if you encounter challenges. Additionally, we’ll cover pumping and storing breast milk for times when breastfeeding may not be possible or when returning to work.

This is a great course to take for first time parents- better than a “crash course” as it’s very thorough and even hands-on. I feel more empowered, I can visualize labor more than I did before.”      *Course Attendee

I really enjoyed the conversations regarding how to involve and empower the partner. One major takeaway is to allow the partner to approach child care in their unique way, and recognize that it will not look the same as my approach.  *Course Attendee
